About Hynek Financial Group

Daniel Hynek
President.

Daniel entered the insurance industry at the age of 23. He started Hynek Financial Group 27 years ago when the Oakville Chamber of Commerce asked Dan to source out a group benefit plan that would service their growing membership. The Oakville Chamber was the first Chamber in Ontario to participate in the then fledgling national Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance Plan. Currently there are over 800 Chambers of Commerce participating in this unique group insurance plan.

Daniel feels one of the great successes of the Chambers benefit program is the impact a small business receives by incorporating a benefit plan into their HR strategy. Employees and their families feel more secure when they are enrolled in a plan providing disability, health and dental benefits.

Having a group plan also signals that despite being a small business the firm is a serious employer and cares about long term security for their employees. Being a responsible employer and offering a good package to your team can also help retain your trained people. The cost of a group health and dental plan is a tax deductible expense to your business and a tax free benefit to employees.

The pooled nature of this plan allows its member firms access to a “big institutional” comprehensive plan designed for businesses as small as one employee (self proprietors working from home) to companies with 50 or more employees. Being pooled is the true strength of the plan as it allows a company to join 26,000 other chamber member firms in the plan which provides stable rates for health and dental. Businesses with 1-9 employees will not be penalized or have rates increased to offset high claims. Over the past 6 years the Chamber plan has an enviable rate and renewal history. Annual renewal rate adjustments have averaged less than 5%.

The Johnston Group, the plan administrator, is consistently voted in the “Top 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada.” The Chamber plan is incorporated as “Not for Profit” and reinvests any surplus back into the plan to improve coverage and to stabilize renewal rates. Plan improvements include white fillings instead of amalgam and Best Doctors® at no extra cost to its participants.

Enrolling in the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan not only provides superior service and coverage but it also allows you access to the Hynek Financial Group team of dedicated staff who are experts in the Life and Group Insurance industry.

Daniel believes strongly in lifetime learning. He has been a student for over 18 years of his adult life. Along with his MBA from McMaster, he is also a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Financial Consultant.
